VISIT AYUTTHAYA, PHITSANULOK, SUKHOTHAI, SRI SATCHANALAI, LAMPANG, LAMPHUN AND CHIANG MAI
Day 01 Ayutthaya/Phitsanulok/Sukhothai
Depart from the hotel in Bangkok for Ayutthaya. Explore the ancient monuments of this former Thai capital dating back to A.D. 1350, which was ransacked by the Burmese in 1767. Continue to visit the riverside town of Phitsanulok. Admire the most beautiful and graceful Buddha statue in Thailand at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat before proceeding to Sukhothai.
Day 02 Sukhothai/Sri Satchanalai/Lampang
Visit ancient Sukhothai, the glorious centre of Thai civilisation from about A.D. 1238 to 1378, a period when many European cities were still undeveloped. Learn of its proud history, and explore the many monuments. Proceed to beautiful Si Satchanalai, renowned for its Sangkhalok stoneware, its classically beautiful architecture, and exceptionally beautiful Buddha images. Continue to Lampang and visit Wat Prathat Lampang Luang, one of the North’s finest temples and one of the best examples of Northern-style religious architecture.
Day 03 Lampang/Lamphun/Chiang Mai
Visit the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre in Lampang. It is the only place in the world where baby elephants go to school. Here you will see how the proud pachyderms are trained to help in lumber work. Travel on to Lamphun and visit the most sacred shrine in Lamphun before travel on to Chiang Mai.
Afternoon visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep and Chiang Mai city plus some cottage industries.
Day 04 Chiang Mai
You will stay on in Chiang Mai on your own or fly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. Air fare is not included in the tour price.
The arrangements include private air-conditioned vehicle, professional English-speaking guide, admission fees, hotel accommodation in Sukhothai, Lampang and Chiang Mai (one night at each place) and full breakfast every morning.
