Thailand and Vietnam (18 nights) article
Day 1 Bangkok 
On arrival at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport you will be met by your local guide and transferred to the centre of the city and checked in to your hotel,
Accommodation has been reserved for you for 3 nights, on a bed + breakfast basis.
Day 2 Bangkok
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is an amazing metropolis, blending traditional Thai culture with modern, bustling city life, it will both surprise and delight you. 
After a leisurely breakfast this morning enjoy a stroll around the vicinity of your hotel, then take a tuk tuk or Skytrain to one of Bangkok’s fantastic inner-city shopping malls. 
Tonight you will be taken to Thailand’s spectacular must-see stage show, Siam Niramit, an enchantingly beautiful celebration of Thailand’s heritage and culture. 
Dinner before the show, in the theatre restaurant, is included.

Day 3 Bangkok
Your guide will pick you up this morning for your sightseeing tour of the Royal Grand Palace + the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple.
Free time this afternoon to relax, then perhaps do some shopping later this evening in one of Bangkok’s night-markets.
 Day 4   Bangkok
Following an early breakfast your guide will meet you at the hotel for your half-day sightseeing tour outside Bangkok.
Your will visit the amazing + unique Mae Klong market, then you’ll go on to Damnersaduak, Thailand’s most famous floating market, where you will enjoy the unique and colourful spectacle of all types of products + food being sold from open boats. 
After your return to Bangkok this afternoon, you have free time to refresh and relax, and get ready for a special last-night in Thailand’s capital.  
This evening you will be welcomed aboard a luxury riverboat for a romantic 2-hour dinner-cruise along the magical moonlit Chaophraya River. 
Enjoy delicious Thai cuisine whilst drifting gently past many wonderful floodlit riverside landmarks, including the stunningly beautiful Temple of the Dawn and the Royal Grand Palace. Talented on-board musicians and singers will help make this a truly memorable experience.  

Day 5   Bangkok to Hanoi 
This morning you will be transferred to Suvarnabhumi Airport for your flight to   Vietnam.
On arrival at Hanoi Airport you will be met and taken to your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter: 2 nights accommodation, on a bed + breakfast basis, has been reserved for you.
The rest of the day is free to take in the atmosphere of Hanoi and find a nice  restaurant for dinner this evening.  

Day 6 Hanoi
Today take it easy and enjoy a free day + evening exploring this slow-paced yet lively Vietnamese capital, spend time wandering through the narrow streets in the Old Quarter and shaded boulevards in the French Quarter.

Day 7 Hanoi to Halong Bay 
After an early breakfast you will be picked-up and driven through the Red River Delta to Halong Bay.
Board a junk for a cruise among the hundreds of islets of beautiful Halong Bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch and a swim (weather permitting).
At sunset your junk will drop anchor in the evening for an overnight stay among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea.
Dinner tonight will be served in the junk’s restaurant, afterwards settle down for the night in the comfort of your cabin which will, of course, have its own bathroom.

Day 8 Halong Bay to Hanoi
Breakfast on board, spend the morning cruising through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay.
After an early lunch, your junk arrives back at the harbour where you will be met and driven back to Hanoi, passing rice paddy fields and picturesque scenery on the way.
You will arrive back in Hanoi late in the afternoon for your overnight stay in the Old Quarter. 

Day 9 Hanoi to Hue 
A late check-out has been arranged with your hotel, so you have free time today to explore more of Hanoi’s delightful Old Quarter, perhaps do some last-minute shopping. 
At 18:00 you will be transferred to Hanoi Station for your overnight train journey to Hue with sleeping accommodation/compartment

Day 10 Hue
On arrival in Hue this morning, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your stay of 2 nights [on a bed + breakfast basis].
Lunch at the hotel is included today.
The rest of day free to just take it easy and to start exploring Hue.

Day 11 Hue
After breakfast, you’ll be taken by Cyclo to the magnificent old Imperial Citadel for sightseeing.
Your Cyclo driver will take you back to your hotel, you will then have free time for lunch and to wander at your leisure around the old streets of Hue and perhaps buy some of the sophisticated traditional handicrafts for which the city is famous.
Early this evening you will join a riverboat cruise on the Pearl River, afterwards have dinner either at your hotel or one of the many excellent local restaurants.

Day 12 Hue to Hoi An
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Hue Station for the rail journey to Danang: travelling at low speeds, the train traverses steep mountainous gradients, through the Hai Van Pass. The 3-hour journey allows spectacular views of the coast + bays.
On arrival at Danang Station you will be taken on the 30-kilometre transfer to your resort hotel in Hoi An, where accommodation has been booked for 3 nights [breakfast included].
Now a World Heritage site, Hoi An was once a thriving port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguesa and Arab traders.
This afternoon is free to relax at the resort or to stroll around Hoi An. 
This evening enjoy dinner at your resort or at one of the many restaurants in the old town. 
 
Day 13 Hoi An 
Situated on the banks of the Thu Bon River, Hoi An has a quite unique ambience. 
It’s an ideal place to explore on foot: spend time strolling around the wharf and the narrow streets, see the Japanese Covered Bridge, go shopping in the market, even have a fitting for a silk dress or a suit.
This evening you can dine out in one of Hoi An’s many restaurants and enjoy the night-time charm of this lovely old town. 

Day 14 Hoi An
Take some time today to relax at your resort, perhaps have a swim in the pool or at the nearby beach.
This afternoon, meander through the streets of old Hoi An, visit one of the historic old houses, and take in the atmosphere of Old Asia.    
Dinner is included this evening, at Cargo Club Restaurant in Old Hoi An

Day 15 Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City [Saigon]
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Danang Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City [Saigon]
On arrival at Ho Chi Minh Airport you will be met and transferred to your city-centre hotel. 
The rest of day is free to start exploring HCM, often called the Pearl of the Orient”. An ever-changing city, with increasing numbers of modern buildings, lively cafes and bars, there is still plenty of local traditional charm here.
Motor scooters are everywhere, the noisy and frenetic traffic adds to the exciting mix that is Saigon.
Tonight, have dinner at one of the HCMs fine restaurants or you may prefer to eat in one of the local cafes.    

Day 16 Ho Chi Minh City
Following breakfast, you will be taken on a half-day sightseeing tour of important HCM/Saigon sites, including the old USA Embassy, war museum, Chinatown.
You will arrive back at your hotel in the early afternoon, take a little time to do a little shopping or just rest and relax before strolling to a nearby restaurant for dinner this evening. 

Day 17 Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta
This morning, after breakfast, check-out from the hotel, you will then be escorted by a driver + guide on your car journey to the Mekong Delta.
At Cai Bai, you will embark on a riverboat for a cruise on the Cai Be River: you will be able to observe the lively activities of local merchants trading their produce from heavily laden vessels.
You’ll visit a village where you can see some family businesses that produce local items such as rice paper.
After lunch at a local house, you will be taken to Binh Hoa Phuoc islet for a sampan ride and will then disembark at Vinh Long for for the drive onto Can Tho and will be checked in at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Dinner at your hotel tonight is included. 
Time to explore a delta-island village by bicycle or on foot
Day 18 Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City
An early breakfast this morning will be followed by a boat cruise to Cai Rang Floating Market which is full of the lively activity of small boats and vessels delivering and selling produce + goods from all over the Mekong Delta. 
Continue cruising on the Ba Lang Canal; stop at an orchard and enjoy seasonal fruit before returning to Ho Chi Minh City, where you will check-in to your hotel for your last night in Vietnam, one of the most alluring and exciting countries in Asia.
Dinner is included tonight at Lemongrass Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 19 Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok
Today it’s time to say farewell to beautiful Vietnam. 
You will be transferred from your hotel to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for your flight to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.
